Message from the Program Director
Our Transitional Year program focuses on a diverse and abundant experience to allow recent graduates to develop and hone their clinical skills. We offer a wide range of electives, and the core curriculum includes a novel four-week experience in quality improvement and clinical informatics that we believe is vital to the safe and effective practice of medicine and your future careers.
Lexington Medical Center is committed to developing excellence in post-graduate medical education to ultimately meet the growing needs of our community. We are excited to also partner with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine as an affiliate. We eagerly await the completion of our new $20 million Graduate Medical Education building, which will provide a beautiful place to learn and practice medicine.
We’re located in the Midlands of South Carolina, near the state capitol, which is home to the University of South Carolina. Cultural, sporting and outdoor activities abound in this vibrant, eclectic and growing community in the Southeast. We have plenty of sunshine and warmth with short and pleasant winters. Our health system has been successful in growing and providing care to our patients, and we are confident your experience here will transform your career.
