Transitional Year Residency Program Curriculum
Our program curriculum offers broad, well-balanced exposure to a variety of clinical practice areas to prepare residents for a subsequent program in their chosen specialty.
Rotations
During your transitional year, you’ll build a solid foundation through hands-on experience.
- Clinical Informatics/Quality Improvement — 4 weeks
- Emergency Medicine — 4 weeks
- General Surgery — 8 weeks
- Inpatient Family Medicine — 8 weeks
- Medical Intensive Care Unit — 8 weeks
- Outpatient Family Medicine — 8 weeks
- Outpatient Specialty Elective — 4 weeks
- Electives — 8 weeks
Electives
All required rotations are available as electives in addition to these subspecialties.
- Adult Medicine (Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Rheumatology)
- Surgery (ENT, Orthopaedics, Urology)
- Outpatient Surgery
- Anesthesiology
