A graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. McKay earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He then completed his family medicine residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and a faculty development fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. McKay is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has cared for patients of all ages at Lexington Family Practice Ballentine for more than 15 years. He is the associate program director for the Lexington Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program and the program director for its Transitional Year Program. Prior to these roles, he served as an assistant professor for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and treated patients there.
