Message from the Program Director
On July 1, 2025, Lexington Medical Center will launch its first fellowship program in clinical informatics. The Lexington Medical Center Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program, newly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in 2024 as a 3-3 graduate medical education program, is right in the heart of the Midlands of South Carolina and within one of the most successful integrated health care systems in the Southeast.
This opportunity gives incoming fellows integral involvement from the program’s inception in an innovative and collaborative educational environment, while progressing through their own training. The Lexington Medical Center Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program will showcase excellence in quality care and solidify the commitment to improving health outcomes that the hospital has made to its communities since 1971.
Lexington Medical Center is committed to developing excellence in post-graduate medical education to ultimately meet the growing needs of our community. Fellows will have a unique, robust opportunity to develop their technical skills and knowledge through pursuit of a Master's in Health Information Technology in partnership with the University of South Carolina. Also, the completion of our new $20 million Graduate Medical Education building provides a beautiful place to learn and practice medicine. The design creates a collaborative learning environment for fellowship and resident training, patient care delivery and faculty mentorship.
Lexington Medical Center Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program is a comprehensive, academically focused program that will prepare fellows for a successful practice in the field of clinical informatics as well as future leadership in health care organizations.
Our health system has been successful in growing and providing care to our patients, and we are confident your experience here will transform your career. As we focus on recruiting our inaugural class, we look forward to working with resident physicians who will inspire generations of family medicine graduates for years to come.
