Nurse Scholars Program

A shot of a young male registered nurse at Lexington Medical Center.

Come for the support. Stay for the rewarding career.

Program Details

Starting your nursing career at Lexington Medical Center just got easier. You can now receive financial assistance to pay for your education through our new nurse scholars program.

Lexington Medical Center’s nurse scholars program rewards qualified nursing students with funds to defray the cost of attending nursing school. Nurse scholars receive a $250 stipend every two weeks, up to a total of $5,000, until they graduate from nursing school. Recipients receive their educational support funds during the last one or two semesters of nursing school.

Nurse scholars are accepted into the hospital’s nurse residency program upon graduation. They commit to a one-month commitment as registered nurses at Lexington Medical Center for every month of educational support received.

Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a year-round basis. However, students are encouraged to submit their documentation one year prior to graduation.

Once the maximum number of scholars has been reached for a given year, Lexington Medical Center will no longer accept applications for the program. Applications to the nurse residency programs will still be accepted.

  • Scholar stipends are subject to taxes in accordance with IRS regulations.
