An honors graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Esperti earned his medical degree from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg and completed his internal medicine residency at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, serving as chief resident. He then completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he also served as chief fellow, chair of the Resident Quality and Safety Committee and senior clinical skills simulation educator.
Dr. Esperti is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Thoracic Society. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of pulmonary diseases and conditions, as well as the diagnosis, management and prevention of complications in patients who are severely ill and may require intensive monitoring. During his fellowship, he cared for pulmonary and critically ill patients at William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs in Columbia, South Carolina.
Dr. Esperti joins the team of board-certified physicians at Lexington Critical Care to provide comprehensive critical care to inpatients at Lexington Medical Center. These specially trained physicians reflect the hospital’s commitment to offering advanced medicine and compassionate care to patients while they are in the hospital.
