Dr. Blount graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, and completed a master’s degree in bioengineering there. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and then completed his family medicine residency at Novant Health in Cornelius, North Carolina. He also has a certificate in theology, medicine and cultural fellowship from Duke Divinity School at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Blount has special interests in lifestyle and preventive medicine, as well as the biopsychosocial-spiritual model of care, a holistic approach that considers a patient’s physicality, psychology, sociology and spirituality as interconnected factors that influence his or her health and well-being. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Alongside the board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers at Lexington Family Practice Ballentine, Dr. Blount provides comprehensive, continuous care to meet the health needs of patients of all ages. In addition to well visits and same-day sick and urgent appointments, the practice offers in-office laboratory services and minor procedures.
