Bio

Dr. Altman graduated summa cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He then completed his family medicine residency at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

Dr. Altman is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Christian Medical & Dental Associations and the Society of Hospital Medicine. He most recently cared for patients of all ages at McLeod Health Urgent Care in Florence and Darlington, South Carolina, and served as procedures lead for routine inpatient procedures, such as central venous triple-lumen catheter, non-tunneled trialysis (internal jugular and femoral), midline catheters, ultrasound-guided IVs, arterial lines, intubations with direct and GlideScope® laryngoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tubes and paracentesis. He also gained experience training junior residents and medical students in multiple inpatient procedures through lectures, workshops, skills labs and in-person supervision.

Dr. Altman proudly joins the experienced faculty in Lexington Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education program to provide comprehensive training to family medicine and transitional year resident physicians.
