A graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Arya earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, and completed internal medicine residencies at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City and Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. He went on to complete fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine, as well as an interventional pulmonary fellowship at Cooper University Hospital.
Dr. Arya has more than 10 years of extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disorders, specifically minimally invasive procedures for lung cancer and chest or lung diseases. He is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary disease with additional certification in interventional pulmonology. He is also a member of the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Arya most recently served as an interventional pulmonary and critical care attending physician, clinical associate professor for the Department of Internal Medicine and director of the Interventional Pulmonology and Bronchoscopy division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine for Prisma Health Midlands and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. In addition to these roles, he served on the Prisma Health Midlands Credentials Committee and its Professional Practice Council and co-authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed journals, publications, book chapters and poster/abstract presentations.

Offering a full range of services in the diagnosis and treatment of adult acute and chronic lung disease, including bronchoscopy, chest radiography, pulmonary function testing, echocardiograms and endobronchial ultrasound biopsy, the practice also provides quality critical care and sleep medicine services.
