Dr. Kalu received her undergraduate degree in human evolutionary biology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. She served as a postdoctoral research fellow at The City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California, as well as a clinical skills instructor at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine in Riverside, California. Dr. Kalu completed her family medicine residency at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona, California, and a one-year fellowship in obstetrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, New York.
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Kalu has extensive experience in managing normal to high-risk pregnancies and performing cesarean sections. During her fellowship year, she gained further experience in neonatal care and worked as an urgent care physician to maintain her family medicine skills. She has also co-authored several publications and has an interest in clinical research.
Dr. Kalu proudly joins the experienced faculty in Lexington Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Program as director of the Women’s Health Curriculum to provide comprehensive training to family medicine and transitional year resident physicians.
