Dr. Verma earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a master’s degree in basic medical sciences at New York Medical College in Valhalla. After completing her medical degree and residency at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, she completed an anesthesiology/critical care fellowship at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla.
An associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Verma has certifications in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery through the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. She most recently completed her fellowship at UC San Diego, gaining extensive experience in caring for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Prior to this fellowship, Dr. Verma served as an attending acute care general surgeon at Piedmont Healthcare in Statesville, North Carolina, performing a variety of laparoscopic and open procedures. She has also been a fellow in the Division of Burn, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Jacobi Medical Center of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in Bronx, New York, and a clinical research fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.
Dr. Verma joins Lexington Medical Center’s network of care at Lexington Surgery to provide comprehensive surgical care to inpatients at Lexington Medical Center.
