Bio

Dr. Fowler is a South Carolina native who was born at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia and grew up in Lake City. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and graduated magna cum laude from the USC School of Medicine in Columbia. He then completed a general surgery residency, serving as chief resident, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and completed a vascular surgery fellowship at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Fowler has certifications in advanced burn life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, advanced trauma life support, basic life support, and fundamentals of endovascular and laparoscopic surgery. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Society of Vascular Surgery and the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Fowler most recently completed his fellowship, gaining extensive experience in preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care of patients with peripheral arterial, venous, abdominal, visceral artery, renal artery, thoracic aortic, cerebrovascular and lymphatic diseases. He also served on the Operating Room Committee at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Dr. Fowler proudly joins the board-certified cardiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and highly skilled staff at Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center to provide patients with the highest level of care in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases.
