Dr. Gamble graduated summa cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He then completed his family medicine residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, where he also served as chief resident.
Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and an American Academy of Family Physicians fellow, Dr. Gamble has more than 40 years of experience providing primary care to patients of all ages and more than 30 years of experience as a hospice medical director. He has consistently been named one of the Best Doctors in America®, among other awards and accolades. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Gamble served as an associate professor for the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. During that time, he was also medical director of its Family Practice Center.
Dr. Gamble most recently served as chief medical officer at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree, South Carolina, continuing to care for patients as a hospitalist and by appointment at its rural health center. He proudly joins the experienced faculty in Lexington Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education program to provide comprehensive training to family medicine and transitional year resident physicians.
