Dr. Paramanathan graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and earned her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean. She then completed an internal medicine residency, serving as chief resident, and a hematology/oncology fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital in New York.
Board certified in hematology, internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Paramanathan is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. She has more than 12 years of experience providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient oncologic and hematologic care to patients, including treating solid tumors, hematologic malignancies and benign hematologic disorders. Dr. Paramanathan also has extensive experience treating patients with breast cancer and enrolling patients in clinical trials. She most recently served as the attending hematologist/oncologist at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, as well as managed its infusion center and clinic laboratory and chaired its Cancer Committee.
