Dr. Keister graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. She then earned her medical degree from the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus, where she also served as chief resident.
Certified in da Vinci robotics and neonatal resuscitation, Dr. Keister is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, among other organizations. Her residency included robust training in minimally invasive surgery; obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound; high-volume, high-risk obstetrics; and care of a diverse patient population.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Keister coordinated several quality improvement research studies – most notably on implementation of pelvic floor physical therapy during pregnancy for promotion of spontaneous labor – and earned certification in Spinning Babies, which empowers women to find comfort during pregnancy and labor and optimize spontaneous labor progression by improving fetal positioning. She also co-authored the OB/GYN edition of a pocket guidebook series for medical students nationwide and served on the Well-being Committee for OhioHealth Doctors Hospital, addressing the mental and physical health of physicians.
With a patient-centered approach to care, Dr. Keister is committed to helping her patients lead healthier, happier lives. She has specific interests in minimally invasive robotic surgery, endometriosis management, menopause management, improvement of sexual health and function, and contraceptive management.
