Elizabeth M. Schmidt, DO, graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan, serving as chief resident and on numerous committees, including the Medical Quality Committee, the Documentation Quality Committe and the Graduate Medical Education Committee.
Dr. Schmidt has experience providing a broad range of health care services, including treatment of patients with serious medical conditions that require ongoing care. A member of the American Osteopathic Association,she most recently cared for patients at West Michigan Geriatrics Select Specialty Hospital Long-term Acute Care and Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Schmidt joins the team of board-certified physicians at Medical Center Hospitalists to provide comprehensive inpatient care at Lexington Medical Center. These specially trained physicians reflect the hospital’s commitment to offering advanced medicine and compassionate care to patients while they are in the hospital.
