James W. Stands, MD, FACOG

A native of Columbia, South Carolina, James W. Stands, MD, graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He then completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

 

Dr. Stands is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the National Board of Medical Examiners and the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. He is also an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Fellow and a member of the American Medical Association, the Columbia Medical Society, the South Carolina Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association.

 

Prior to joining the Lexington Medical Center Network of Care, Dr. Stands provided comprehensive women’s services at South Carolina OB/GYN.  The highly skilled physicians and staff at South Carolina OB/GYN have provided gynecologic and obstetric services to women of all ages in the Midlands for more than 50 years.
