After graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, and summa cum laude from Rhode Island College in Providence with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Michael Capuano, DO, earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He completed his internal medicine residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Most recently, Dr. Capuano was an associate professor at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and at New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He also worked as a hospitalist at Kent Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island, where he served as director of its Care Team and attending physician of its Academic Team. He also developed rapid response and stroke activation teams at Kent Hospital and established stroke protocol there.
Dr. Capuano is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Medical Association and the National Association of Inpatient Physicians.
