Bio

Dr. Nimmich graduated magna cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. She then completed an internal medicine residency at University of Vermont-Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington and an infectious diseases fellowship at the USC School of Medicine.

Board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, Dr. Nimmich is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the South Carolina Medical Association. She has more than 10 years of experience diagnosing, treating and managing a wide variety of infectious disease conditions, such as COVID-19, HIV, hepatitis, chronic infections and acute hospital infections. She currently serves as medical director of Infection Control at Lexington Medical Center and is a member of the hospital’s Performance Improvement Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and Sepsis Committee.

Alongside the board-certified physicians and advanced practice provider at Lexington Medical Specialists, Dr. Nimmich uses the latest medical advancements to provide comprehensive care to patients and collaborates with other area specialists in the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases and disorders in adults.
