After graduating with distinction from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville with a bachelor’s degree in Physics, Dr. Brabham earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he also graduated top of his class. He then completed an Internal Medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, and achieved board certification in this specialty.
Dr. Brabham culminated his education by completing fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at MUSC. His most recent clinical research studies compared right and left pectoral implantable cardioverter defibrillation efficacy and mortality. His other research studies include takotsubo cardiomyopathy in a patient with previously undiagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with obstruction for Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Brabham presented the abstract Is Defibrillation Threshold Testing Needed at the American Heart Association’s 2012 Scientific Sessions.
