Dr. Perez earned his medical degree from the University of Valencia School of Medicine in Valencia, Spain. He worked in Spain as an internal medicine physician before completing an internal medicine residency at Saint Francis Medical Center in Evanston, Illinois. He then completed an infectious diseases fellowship at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, Dr. Perez has more than 15 years of experience treating infections such as COVID-19, HIV, hepatitis C, non-tuberculous mycobacteria, chronic infections and acute hospital infections. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, as well as past president of the Lexington Medical Association and treasurer for the South Carolina Infectious Diseases Society. He is also certified for medical interpretation in Spanish.
Dr. Perez currently serves as medical director of Infectious Diseases at Lexington Medical Center and provides comprehensive care to patients with infectious diseases at Lexington Medical Specialists.
