Dr. Madden completed his undergraduate studies and earned his MD at the University of South Florida College of Medicine 1976. He served his Internship, Residency, and Fellowship at the Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas from 1976 to 1981. Dr. Madden served as the chief of Oncology at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA from 1981 to 1985. He was a faculty member at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His private practice experience includes: Laurel Medical Associates in Columbia; Consultants in Oncology in West Columbia; and South Carolina Oncology in West Columbia before establishing Lexington Oncology in 2003.
Dr. Madden is a certified member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Oncology and is the recipient of the prestigious 2003 Midlands (South Carolina) Physician of the Year award.
