Lexington Medical Administrative Fellowship

Do I qualify?

Yes, if:

  • You have completed or anticipate completion of a master's degree in a related area by June 2025.
  • You're team-oriented, a self-starter and knowledgeable about the health care industry.
  • You have experience working in a setting where physicians interact directly with patients.

    b. Official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate work to date)

Program Details

What degrees are preferred?

We're looking for candidates from health care administration, health services management, public health, business administration or business management programs.

How long do fellowships last?

They last 12 months, beginning in June each year.

What is compensation like?

We provide competitive compensation and benefits.

What do fellows do?

They work hands-on in all areas of physician practice management, shadow hospital departments, complete a wide variety of projects, and assist at several LMC community events throughout the year.

Will I be offered employment with LMC after the fellowship ends?

We can't guarantee we'll be able to offer you an opportunity with LMC at the end of your fellowship, but it is a possibility.

Projects

You'll work on multiple projects, either as required by core curriculum or based on our organizational needs.

What kind of projects?

Examples of past fellow projects include:

  • Key Indicator Ratios
  • Revenue Cycle Analysis
  • Physician Practice Workflow Time Study
  • Patient Satisfaction Assessments

Mentorship

Each fellow will work with mentors, known as preceptors.

Who are preceptors?

Previous fellows and experienced practice managers working within LMC physician practices serve as mentors to guide fellows through their learning experience. During the Administrative Fellowship Program, fellows develop close relationships with their preceptor as well as executive leadership during project assignments and practice rotations.

Your fellowship experience will be individualized around organizational, professional and career objectives. You'll have a chance to practice and develop your skills within all LMC specialties including outpatient and inpatient.
