West Columbia, S.C. – Guillaume D. Dumont, MD, and J. Clint Pride, MD, have joined the board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers at Lexington Orthopaediccs and Sports Medicine to provide comprehensive orthopaedic care. The practice is part of Lexington Medical Center’s network of care.

Dr. Dumont earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, before attending medical school at Emory University in Atlanta. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, serving as chief resident and receiving the W. Brandon Carrell Distinguished Physician Award for outstanding patient care. Dr. Dumont also traveled to the Alps Surgery Institute in Annecy, France, for a fellowship with Laurent Lafosse, MD, a world-renowned leader and innovator in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. While there, he learned leading-edge techniques in minimally invasive arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

Dr. Dumont went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and completed additional training in hip arthroscopy and hip preservation with J.W. Thomas Byrd, MD, at the Nashville Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Tennessee. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Dumont specializes in the treatment of hip, shoulder and knee injuries. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques to help patients return to everyday activities. He is one of the few surgeons in South Carolina specializing in hip arthroscopy to treat a variety of injuries, including labral tears, hip impingement and gluteus medius tendon tears. Dr. Dumont also has expertise in treating shoulder injuries, such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder labral tears, shoulder impingement and shoulder dislocations or instability, as well as treating knee ligament and meniscus injuries.

He will see patients at the practice’s Northeast Columbia office, located at 3016 Longtown Commons Drive, Suite 200.

Dr. Pride earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He then completed a family medicine residency and a sports medicine fellowship at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Pride has additional certifications as a community health advocate trainer and a clinical exercise physiologist. He also has additional training in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound with and without therapeutic injections, fracture management, concussion management, regenerative medicine, biomechanics and biomechanical evaluations, exercise and nutrition prescription, and preventative medicine.

Dr. Pride will practice at Lexington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine’s Chapin location at 565 Columbia Avenue, Suite 200.
