West Columbia, S.C. – Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Robert A. Leonardi, MD, to the hospital’s network of care. He joins the 10 board-certified cardiologists at Lexington Cardiology to deliver the highest quality care in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

A Greenville native, Dr. Leonardi earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Duke University in Durham, N.C. and achieved board certification in this specialty. Dr. Leonardi finished his education with a cardiology fellowship at MUSC and fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural interventional cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta.

He is also board certified in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. Before joining Lexington Cardiology, Dr. Leonardi served as a South Carolina Fellows-in-Training representative for the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Leonardi’s high level of training in interventional cardiology allows him to treat cases involving the structure of the heart and heart valves with state-of-the-art, minimally invasive technology. “I enjoy the procedural aspects of cardiology because they can provide immediate benefits to patients that help them feel better and live longer,” said Dr. Leonardi.

He is accepting new patients.

Lexington Cardiology offers cardiac consultation and evaluations, echocardiograms, nuclear stress testing, vascular studies, pacemaker and defibrillator services, heart catheterizations and in-hospital procedures. Other services include coronary stenting, coronary angioplasty, peripheral vascular intervention, Bi-V ICD/pacemaker implantations and atrial septal defect closure.
