After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in physiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Marshall French, MD, earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Cupecoy, St. Maarten. He then completed an anesthesiology residency at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and completed a critical care anesthesiology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami in Miami, Florida.
Dr. French is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the South Carolina Medical Association. Most recently, he served as medical director of the Urology Center of Spartanburg, overseeing the direction of all perioperative medicine services including its preoperative clinic, medical education, and post-anesthesia care unit planning and discharge. He also served as an intensivist and associate professor at University of Miami Hospital, medically directing and providing patient care in operating rooms and intensive care units at several hospitals and teaching anesthesiology and critical care best practices to medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. French has specific experience managing patient care following major cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, and he has additional training in transesophageal echocardiography and transthoracic echocardiography.
