Lexington Medical Center Welcomes Perrie Ryan, MD

Lexington Medical Center proudly welcomes Perrie Ryan, MD, to its network of care. He joins the board-certified physicians and highly skilled nurse practitioners at Lexington Oncology to offer innovative and comprehensive hematology and medical oncology services. 
 
Board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, Dr. Ryan is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Medical Association. He most recently served as a hematologist/oncologist at Wellmont Blue Ridge Medical Specialists in Johnson City, Tennessee, and as a consultant at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. 
 
In addition to his work in the clinical setting, Dr. Ryan has conducted several research studies, including evaluating the effectiveness of second and third line treatment for locally advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer and assessing the impact on survival of emergency department presentation of patients ultimately diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer at a single institution. 
 
Dr. Ryan is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington and completed his internal medicine internship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Ryan went on to complete his internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
