Birthing Center Tours: We routinely offer tours of our birthing rooms, nursery and the entire birthing center. You can also meet our medical experts who will be there when you're ready for your special delivery. To register for a free tour, call 791-BABY (2229). Patient Education: We'll give you lots of educational materials to take home with you including a video that teaches you to care for your new arrival.
Special Care: While most births at Lexington Medical Center can be described as medically routine, you'll have an added sense of confidence in knowing we are prepared for those deliveries that require special attention. We combine tenderness with technology to offer Caesarean delivery rooms as well as the Special Care Nursery, designed for newborns that need special care and attention, all located close to our labor and delivery unit.
Kangaroo Care: Medical studies have proven that human touch is vitally important to a child's well being. Our Kangaroo Care program allows parents and premature babies to develop a bond by sharing loving, healing contact. Our Special Care Nursery even has private family rooms - comfortable places for you to relax while you visit and feed your baby.
Support Services: Often a patient requires additional healthcare services. Our nursing staff will work with you to arrange any special services you may need through either our medical resources or those available through community and other health care organizations.
Infant Security: All infants are given security bracelets soon after they're born. In addition to our routine hospital security, this added measure of protection gives new parents peace of mind that their baby is safe and sound.
Beeper Program: Our beeper program ensures you can get in touch with your support person anytime you need. It can give you an added sense of security in knowing the person helping you in the birthing process is only a phone call away. For more information, call 791-BABY (2229).
Newborn Hearing Screenings: As part of a statewide effort to detect early hearing loss, we will give your newborn a Universal Hearing Screening. This early intervention could possibly make a tremendous difference in your child's quality of life.
24-Hour Hotline: We know you may have questions once you get home with your new baby. That's why our nursing staff is available 24 hours a day to answer your questions and address your concerns. If you have a question -anytime of the day or night, call 791-2525.
