Your Bill

We understand that navigating the patient billing process can be a difficult task and that is why our customer service department is available to assist you in any way possible.

When insurance is involved, we will file a claim for our services with your insurance carrier, provided we have complete billing information and benefits are made payable to Lexington Medical Center.

We attempt to collect all known patient balances, including deductibles, coinsurances and co-payment amounts.

Please remember that you will receive statements from other providers who were involved in your care such as, but not limited to, your physician, anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathologist, etc.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for paying all charges not covered by insurance. This may include deductibles, co-pay amounts, per-stay co-pays and non-covered charges.

Due to the complex nature of patient care, your bill may not be fully assessed and finalized until after you have been discharged from our facility, which will result in a follow-up statement mailed to you. Any further self-pay portions on this statement will be due within twenty (20) days of notification.

Insurance

If you have insurance benefits that we are able to verify, we will submit a claim to your insurance company. We typically will not contact you again until your insurance company has paid and there is a patient balance, or we have been unsuccessful in obtaining payment from them. Should this occur, we may ask for your assistance in getting your insurance company to pay the claim.

If your insurance has pre-certification, pre-authorization or second opinion requirements, it is your responsibility to obtain them.

Financial Concerns

If you do not have insurance, a financial counselor is available to speak with you about financial resources that may be available to assist you. If services are needed to help with post-hospital care, your social worker will evaluate your insurance coverage and financial responsibility.
