Dear Friends,
Two thousand five marked our 12th year of operation.
Our book this year is titled "Windows of Opportunity." As in any
window, there are two sides - the opportunity to give and the
opportunity to see our contributions make a difference in patients,
citizens, and staff lives.
This year's annual report celebrates the many lives
touched by the work of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation:
The lives of mothers, whose birthing experiences were
greatly enhanced by the loving assistance of our doulas. The lives
of health-care students who received foundation scholarships. The
lives of seniors who were able to purchase vital prescriptions
through Project Prescription.
Thanks to your ongoing financial support, our work
does, indeed, change lives. Lexington Medical Center employees
contributed more than $300,000 through their campaign "UEF." During
a year in which you were challenged to contribute to tremendous
needs caused by natural disasters in our nation and abroad, you
continued your generous support of the Foundation and enabled us to
make a tangible difference here in our own community.
We also celebrate the lives of those who brought
inspiring messages to our fundraising events throughout the year:
Olympic gold medalist Mia Hamm, General Tommy Franks, and Captain
James Lovell. Because they were willing to share their time and
their life stories, we were able to sponsor first-rate events
enjoyed by hundreds of Foundation supporters.
A "thank you" letter does not begin to tell you how
much we appreciate your continued support. Without you, there would
be no windows.
Sincerely,
George Drafts
Chairman
Lexington Medical Center Foundation
