Bio

Francisco J. Albert, DO, DTM&H, FACP, FHM, DipABLM, graduated with honors from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature and pre-medical studies. He then earned his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois, and completed his internal medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dual board certified in hospital medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and in lifestyle medicine by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Albert is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine, and a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He holds a professional diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London, England, and completed the Gorgas Advanced Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, in Lima, Peru.

Dr. Albert served as chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Moncrief Army Community Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, prior to joining the Lexington Medical Center Network of Care at Lexington Hospitalists. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as director of Wellness and Hospital Medicine for Graduate Medical Education at Lexington Medical Center, as well as assistant professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
